Heipūkarea, curated by Hana Tapiata (author of Atua Wāhine: the wisdom of Māori goddesses), is a multi medium, multi sensory experience of the numerous expressions of mātauranga, knowledge and wisdom dedicated to atua wāhine (Māori goddesses). The exhibition is about reinstating balance in how we interpret, interact with and understand atua. The desire to know atua wāhine runs deep and this exhibition is an offering to facilitate that connection.
